The Golden Phoenix Tae Kwon Do Club teaches a broad variety of techniques that are particularly advantageous for women who are often smaller than their assailent Strength and power are not as important as correct technique and thus one can defend oneself even against a larger opponent.

For turning self defence practice into self defence reality. Tae Kwon Do includes both hard and soft techniques. Below are a very few samples of what you can acheive!










SELF DEFENCE WITH STRIKES AND KICKS

These methods of self defence are direct, simple and very powerful. The simplest self defence can be taught in your very first Tae Kwon Do lesson and you will leave the training hall already one step further than when you entered ! These techniques are the Tae Kwon do version of hard martial arts such as Karate. Here we show just a few examples of the dozens of techniques that you can learn!

"Grab to Arm" defence
Usually, a student will be capable of these techniques after a few lessons at Phoenix Tae Kwon Do. Simple and effective defences against an assailent grabbing your wrist
"Punch / Grab" defence
Usually, a student will be capable of these techniques after a few months at Phoenix Tae Kwon Do. Simple and effective defences against an assailent punching or attempting to grab you

SELF DEFENCE WITH LOCKS AND HOLDS

These methods of self defence are slight more complex and subtle because they avoid striking the opponent. However, once learnt they are a very effective means of defending ourself and controlling the asailent with expending effort yourself! These techniques are the Tae Kwon do version of soft martial arts such as Aikido or Judo. Here we show just a few examples of the dozens of techniques that you can learn! (These examples are meant as a guide. Please rememeber that books and photos or movies are no substite for training under correct supervision)
Wrist grip attack on a woman. "Wrist Grab" defence
Usually, a student will be capable of these techniques after a few lessons at Phoenix Tae Kwon Do
Knife attack on a woman. "Knife Attack" defence
Usually, a student will be capable of these techniques after a few months at Phoenix Tae Kwon Do. Knife attacks are particarly hazardous and frighting but you have a chance with the techniques here
Choke hold attack on a woman. "Strangle / Choke Attack" defence
Usually, a student will be capable of these techniques after some months at Phoenix Tae Kwon Do. Strangle holds are also a particularly alarming form of attack. But what ever form the attack comes in you can be prepared.
